Evaluation is
the process of making judgments about student learning and achivement,
clinical performance, employee competence, and educational program,
based on assessment data. In nursing education, evaluation typically
takes the form of judging student attainment of educational objectives
and goals in classroom. With this evaluation, learning outcomes are
measured, further education needs are identified, and additional
instruction can be provided to assist students in their learning and
developing competences for practice.
Evaluation
extends beyond a test, teachers should judge the merits of the learning
performance based on data. Evaluation involves making value judgments
about learners, is a process of collecting and analyzing data about the
student's performance, then makes a value judgment about the quality of
that performance.
In early
education, it is important to take into account the individual
development of children. Each student will show his or her learning in
a different way. This can be done, by having evaluation as a constant
process inside the classroom. A diagnostic, formative and summative
evaluation should be done.
On the other
hand it is important, to consider all those involved in the process of
learning. This means, to give parents the chance to evaluate their
children's learning.
